Professional Development Programmes
Unlocking expertise in schoolsAt TDT, we believe in the power of teachers and leaders to create change. Our programmes help extraordinary leaders to empower all staff, creating research rich, expert school cultures where teachers thrive and children succeed
The best available evidence indicates that great teaching is the most important lever schools have to improve outcomes for all pupils, regardless of background, challenge or need. If teachers are to thrive, we need extraordinary leaders to build healthy, expert school cultures within which continuous development of the art, craft and science of teaching and learning is a priority.
TDT programmes, whether DfE funded National Professional Qualifications or school/trust funded Expert Schools Programmes, provide a robust, coherent, strategic and impactful way to ensure all staff participate meaningfully in tailored, evidence based training and development.
All our programmes have TDT values running through them. They are SMART, always deeply rooted in evidence. They have HEART, with people and relationships at the centre. And they are HUMBLE, we are always curious, we are always learning.
TDT Expert Schools Programmes
Our Expert Schools Programmes have our signature Diagnostic Review at the heart. We always start with a deep, non-judgemental, shared understanding of the effectiveness and implementation of your school or trust CPD programme, identifying areas of strength and improvement based on the 7 domains of people powered school improvement. Then we stay curious and support improvement, with termly coaching conversations and advice on a range of responsive training and qualifications to suit your context.
Building Expert Schools
We’ve worked with over 500 schools to benchmark and validate CPD approaches and implementation, with evidence of boosting staff performance, retention, morale and recruitment. Working collaboratively with you, we make sure your staff engage in meaningful, evidence based and practical development opportunities that are responsive and fit the needs of your particular context.
Expert Schools Network
When your school embarks on an Expert Schools Programme with TDT, it becomes part of our Expert Schools Member Network. As well as supporting you on your professional journey as a CPD lead and having a positive impact on your school or trust, you are part of a Network that drives the narrative and evidence base on effective CPD both nationally and internationally.

Responsive training and qualifications
Our programmes are carefully designed and delivered by experienced leaders, and our advice following your initial Diagnostic Review, will be well-informed, impartial and based on the review findings. Our training and qualifications are available as standalone offers, although we would always advise you start with a Building Expert Schools Programme to get a deep understanding of where you currently are in order to move forward with impact.
