Pedagogical Coaching Training

A powerful way to improve teaching and learning across a school or trust. We work with you to develop an internal team of pedagogical coaches who are welcomed into classrooms to help colleagues review and improve practice.

Otherwise known as Instructional Coaching, the TDT approach balances the need for rigour with the need to build confidence and ownership of learning.

Develop a coaching culture within your school

Participants will be supported to create a vision for coaching in their setting and will be prepared to implement this with supporting tools and resources.

  • Cultivate a Pedagogical Coaching (sometimes known as Instructional Coaching) culture in your school based on leading research and best international practice
  • Prepare mentors for the implementation of the Early Career Framework
  • Improve outcomes for pupils, particularly the most disadvantaged, through effective teacher development
  • Provide opportunities for experienced practitioners to share their expertise, supporting the development of others and themselves

 

Who should apply?

The Pedagogical Coaching programme nurtures expertise in existing and aspiring mentors, middle leaders, or lead practitioners in schools with recognised expertise in teaching and learning.

Previous participants include: Subject and Phase Leads, Literacy and Numeracy Leads, Upper Pay Scale Staff, Assistant Headteachers, Lead Practitioners and Mentors. 

What is involved?

In groups of 8-12 per school, participants will:

  • Engage in 3 live online training sessions 
  • Explore and adapt resources to suit your context
  • Complete gap tasks and guided reflective activities
  • Receive coaching support for CPD Lead to prepare for implementation
  • Access online learning platforms and modules
  • Receive email and telephone coaching for participants and CPD Lead

Participants will be supported to create a vision for coaching in their setting and will be prepared to implement this with supporting tools and resources. CPD Leads will be supported to ensure Pedagogical Coaching is implemented to have maximum impact.
