Teacher Development Trust is delighted to announce that we are joining Forum Strategy’s small group of sector-leading partners; and will become their partner for professional development for an initial 6-month period.

The success and continuous improvement of trusts, as well as their ability to innovate and build capacity for a changing world, depends on high quality professional development. Many academy trusts are working hard to ensure that their professional development offer and model is built on evidence-based principles, and it is important they have the ability and ‘know how’ to develop such models at scale. High quality professional development is also an essential component in being an employer of choice and recruiting and retaining motivated and talented teachers and leaders – especially in such a challenging labour market.

Forum Strategy will work with TDT to help disseminate the principles of highly effective CPD and look to support more trusts in embedding these at scale. Forum – as a sector leading consultancy on trust leadership – will also advise on the development of TDT’s NPQEL offer, whilst continuing to deliver their ongoing Education Executive membership more widely.

Alice Gregson, Chief Operating Officer of Forum Strategy said: “The partnership with TDT is a natural step for both organisations. Trusts are increasingly taking on more responsibility for the design and delivery of professional development, and it is essential that as an organisation we can help to inform them about cutting-edge and evidence-based practice in doing so. High quality CPD delivered across schools, drawing on a wide range of internal talent and expertise, is one of the big advantages of the trust-model. We want to make sure the focus remains on this and TDT, as sector-leaders in this field, will be key partners in that.”

David Weston, CEO of TDT, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Forum Strategy. The most effective school and trust improvement is built upon people development: the right culture, processes and leadership that get the best out of every member of staff. Building on this important principle, we will be drawing on the sector-leading expertise of Forum Strategy for our brand new National Professional Qualification for Executive Leaders and we are proud to become Forum’s partner for the improvement of CPD across trusts and for our NPQs.”
