Those responsible for leading professional development in a school or trust play an important part in the success and well-being of staff and pupils. They also face unique challenges to other school leaders – from planning and evaluating CPD programmes, to ensuring staff buy-in to training initiatives, to guiding ECT mentors on best practice and linking all this to school improvement plans. All in addition to the day job. Sound familiar?
Our online professional learning community programme gives leaders of professional development the opportunity to network and learn from others in similar roles, as well as benefit from the advice of experts in CPD leadership. Through this, leaders will navigate challenges, grow their confidence, and expand their professional expertise over two terms of support.
Anyone with a responsibility for and experience in leading professional development within a school or trust.
Our past participants include: Assistant Headteachers, Headteachers, Vice Principals, Heads of Teaching and Learning, CPD Leads, Deputy Headteachers, Trust CPD Leads and Directors of Learning.
One of our Professional Learning Leads will facilitate the programme. Each of our current facilitators have personal experience in education leadership, as well as a deep knowledge of CPD best practice and how it can be adapted for different contexts. You can learn more about them below.
Through the programme, you will be guided to self-evaluate your current practice and identify areas of strength and improvement. The topics covered in the group sessions are led by participants, who each bring a current challenge they’re facing for group discussion.
We have structured our professional learning communities to provide the benefit of external peer support, networking with colleagues, and access to relevant research and frameworks. Facilitated, small group sessions will always be relevant to your current practice. This is because they are guided by you and the challenges and opportunities you share with the group.
If you’re new to leading professional development or want to gain a deeper understanding of your role and implementing change, the Associate Qualification in CPD Leadership may suit you better.
