Financial Governance
What’s your role at TDT?
I provide financial governance advise and support to the TDT Trustees and Executive. This includes developing and monitoring financial plans and budgets ensuring accuracy and transparency. I also ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, standards and policies.
Why is the work important to you?
I am proud to work with TDT and support them in their mission to provide powerful and impactful professional development for our teachers.
What’s your career been like?
I started my career in private practice, qualifying as an Accountant in 1998. This followed a move into Public Sector Finance, including 8 years with Kent Police as Financial Controller.
I joined TDT from Kent Music, a music education charity, where I had worked for the last 11 years, most recently in the role of Chief Operating officer. I have also held roles in Education, including Business Manager at St Simon Stock Secondary School and Director of Finance at the John Wallis Academy.
What do you do outside of TDT?
In additional to my part-time role at TDT, I work freelance through my company Newlyn Business Solutions, supporting businesses with guidance and advice on all financial matters.
Outside of work I love walking and trips to the theatre.
