Hannah Tyreman (Ha-na Tie-er-man, she/her)

Design and Delivery Lead

What’s your role at TDT?

I plan, design, and facilitate coherent and accessible professional learning for leaders of professional development. My days consist of design work: engaging with research to inform thinking, building digital learning assets, writing programme content, and delivery work: facilitating professional development and engaging in dialogue with leaders.

Why is the work important to you?

Too many teachers experience restrictive conditions, systemic inequities, and poor professional development. Through TDT, I am privileged to work with leaders to unlock the power they have to influence all teachers’ agency, autonomy, and joy.

What’s your career been like?

I was previously an English teacher and a Learning and Development Manager in Further Education settings. Most recently, I was the Head of Learning Design at the Chartered College of Teaching where my work focused on maximising the potential of online learning to support teachers’ professional development. I led programmes on teacher research, education technology, early career teaching, and decolonising the curriculum.

What do you do outside of TDT?

I am an advisory group member for Paul Hamlyn Foundation’s Teacher Development Fund, where I also contribute to the learning programme for school leaders and arts organisations. I also designed and now maintain the website for the BAMEed Network. When I’m not working, you’ll find me walking, board gaming, writing, and reading.
