Bethan Hindley

Director of Design and Delivery

What’s your role at TDT?

I lead the fantastic team who design and deliver TDT programmes, ensuring that our programmes are high-quality, evidence-informed and respond to the evolving needs of teachers and leaders in the sector. As a member of the Executive team, I am responsible for shaping and implementing the charity’s strategy.

Why is the work important to you?

I believe deeply in the power of education to close the disadvantage gap. I am passionate about supporting teachers and leaders to develop at all stages of their professional journey in a way that responds to their needs and those of their context, to ultimately improve the outcomes for their pupils.

What’s your career been like?

I taught Maths and Economics at a secondary school in London, and I was a teacher and middle leader of a Maths department at a British School in São Paulo, Brazil. Before joining TDT, I also worked for a charity called Economy for a short period, where I developed their school programmes.

What do you do outside of TDT?

Outside of work, I am kept busy by my young son and love exploring the world through his eyes. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, eating as much pizza as possible and going to reformer Pilates classes. I like listening to podcasts, walking, and finding opportunities to practise speaking Portuguese with my extended Brazilian family and visiting them when possible.
