This year the TDT Annual National Conference is shaping up to the best ever, with a range of expert and inspirational speakers, inquisitive panel discussions, and collaborative discussions with teachers and school leaders.
It will strengthen your understanding, give you practical examples on how to improve your setting, and give you space to talk to leading thinkers and those working in schools from across the country.
Tuesday 21 October 2025, Central London
This year’s conference is focused on how we create school cultures that celebrate professional growth, that help to ensure teachers and school leaders feel that sense of joy in their work that makes the profession such a rewarding one to be part of.
We start with improving our understanding of what is happening in schools. TDT will be launching the first ever CPD Landscape Report – a comprehensive look at how CPD is delivered in schools, how it is funded, and what it is achieving. This landmark report includes new data and analysis to help explain the choices made about CPD in schools and offer tangible solutions to improve outcomes for all.
We hope you can join us, here’s some more on what you can expect:
1. Inspirational speakers, helping to rekindle the joy of teaching
Including keynotes from acclaimed author and speaker Jaz Ampaw-Farr, and international respected academic and coach, Christian van Nieuwerburgh.

2. Cutting edge research and policy thinking – for national government and individual teachers and school leaders
As well as the landmark CPD Landscape report, we will also be exploring our work on the ‘teaching of teachers’ – being clear what makes this a unique discipline and how we can work together to strengthen professional growth.
3. Perspectives from those working at the front line
Sharing the challenges and opportunities that schools and trusts face as they seek the best way to decide and implement professional development.
4. Engagement with policy makers and leading thinkers
As they reflect on how national policy is being developed (around NPQs for example) and debate the steps you can take to make your school a place that brings joy and values the professional growth of every teacher
5. Plenty of opportunity for connection and networking
This will be with other leaders of professional development, leaders of teams and those interested in developing themselves or others as evaluative, empowered practitioners

As ever, the conference will reflect the values that guide everything TDT does:

We are SMART – all of our programmes are deeply rooted in evidence. We want to know what works and seek out the brightest and the best minds to help shape our programmes.

We have HEART – teaching and learning is about people and connection. Even the strongest evidence for improvement will be ineffective if not implemented by expert, empowered teachers at the front of the classroom. The best interventions are also realistic.

We are HUMBLE – we are always curious, we are always learning. We are led by the evidence, but we also have the humility to keep testing our understanding and adapt.
